The media reports the fact that there are an estimated 6,000 prisoners in the state of Kansas that are exposed to the risk of HIV through the process of sharing dirty needles and blood. I have never heard of it but I do know that it is a fact that I am not too comfortable with.
The irony is that all the people who are doing this to themselves are just as smart as the people who are doing it to them. Most of them aren’t about to be exposed to this risk, but they will be, because they will be, as they are, being exposed to it.
I have to admit I am somewhat concerned about this. There are some people who are so sick of themselves that they don’t care if they get AIDS or not. If you’re not afraid of it, then you’re just going to get sick anyway. I hope the CDC studies this and I hope they take the time to figure out what this disease really is, and how to treat it, and how to prevent it.
