You may not have noticed, but I tend to have the same facial hair, mustache, and goatee as my colleagues. I am a first-year teacher, working with students in a charter school. So a couple of weeks ago Norfolk Public Schools asked me to use their photos and videos in a new campaign, which was very exciting. I love teaching, my students, and my students families. Its been my goal to bring an educational experience to every child I have the opportunity to teach.
I know the website for norfolk.gov, the website of the district to which I currently work, is quite possibly one of the most popular websites in the entire world. It is designed by people who have been in the district for years. They know the curriculum, the students, and the school’s community. However, when I asked why they chose to use my website’s photos and videos, the response was surprising and it was quite an honor for me to be asked.
I’ve always felt that my personal website in the Norfolk District School website is one of the top five most visited websites in the entire world, not to mention one of the most visited by people from the district who visit the website often. As a district staff member I have also received many requests from those who visit the site, to show them the photos and videos that go along with their visit. To date I have had more than 2,500 views on this site alone.
This is a site that is very often visited by people from the district who visit the website often, but I’ve had many of them request and request that I take them to the Norfolk-based website. The Norfolk District School website is one of the newest schools in the district, and I’ve been amazed at how many people from other districts and people from outside the district are visiting the site.
The reason I have had so many visitors from other districts is because the Norfolk District School is part of the district government, and as the district government is a branch of the state government, they are very involved with the site.
